I was just thinking the same thing. We keep trying to play attacking football but we don’t have the defense or good enough MF, maybe it’s time to go back and just play counterattack.
About the attacking football; Mancini changed approache around Christmas for one reason or another; we were number one in the league but still he changed and tried to play attacking minded football. Why?
The club got in an well known all-out attacking minded coach to replace him in the summer when he left and know it seems Pioli is simply following the attacking minded, ball possession, high pressour kind of football FdB played.
Is the club dictating the coach how to play? If so, maybe now we FINALLY have an idea on in which direction we want to go!? We want to be an entertaining attacking minded club, it seems!
Any coach would do that with Milans team in this game.
They know Inter defense has weaknesses, especially on counter attacks, they also know they will lose the possession battle in midfield. Plus the pressure is on Inter to win forcing them to attack.
