This is great news for Italy who, starting with the 2017-2018 season will get four spots directly into the group stage without any playoffs. However this depends on the current ranking of the leagues which at the moment has Italy as number 4 but could easily change since it isn’t going very well for Italy in this years European leagues. If Russia or France would move Italy to the 5th spot in the rankings, Serie A would lose two spots.

Inter isn’t helping Italy to get points for the ranking with their horrible performance in EL. I will cheer for all Italian clubs in Europa. Juve can go far but I don’t want them to win CL.

From the worth of the players in the league pov, Serie A is the third, after EPL and La Liga. Budesliga is 4th and French league is 5th.

Let’s say wors! 2014/15 5 Italian teams went through the grupe and only 2 Russians and 1 France! In round of eight Italy had 5 teams through and France non and Russia 2. All Russian and France teams was eliminated after the quarterfinals and Italy had a team that lost the semifinal!
2015/16 nither of Russia or France had any teams in the round of eight and Italy 1. This year you will have too look for your self!
