Inter returns to the pitch tonight against Bologna in the TIM Cup. Since Europa League is out of the window, Stefano Pioli doesn’t want to miss out on the Coppa Italia since it is a title up for grabs.

Inter – There will be some players rested and given the schedule it’s not a surprise. Everyone expects Gabriel Barbosa’s first start in an official game for InterThe Brazilian could be one of three players (besides Joao Mario and Eder) serving as trequartista behind Mauro Icardi. Palacio and Biabiany are dark horses that could mean Icardi will start on the bench. In goal will probably be Carrizo and the defense could see the return of Gary Medel if he is fully recuperated. Andreolli and Nagatomo fight for a starting position, it depends on how much Pioli is willing to risk by changing the defence. After being disqualified last game against Chievo Verona, Marcelo Brozovic will probably start in midfield. Next to him one of Kondogbia and Gagliardini, where the ex-Atalanta player is in pole position in order for Pioli to see how he and Brozovic work together. Only unavailable players are Ever Banega (disqualified) and Pinamonti (mild concussion). Miranda and Perisic are being rested as a precaution.

Bologna – Donadoni has a lot of unavailable players and has already stated that Bologna’s starting eleven will have a lot of changes. Without Gastaldello, Torosidis, Helander, Taider, Verdi, Sadiq and Petkovic his options are very few. Da Costa and Mbaye should start despite some transfer rumours. In midfield Viviani and Dzemaili will not get the call, instead we have Nagy, Donsah and Pulgar as starters. In attack we will probably see Destro, Mounier and Di Francesco since Floccari is surrounded by transfer rumours.
