Pioli

A very satisfied coach had a press conference after the game against Pescara:

Do you consider the game against Juventus to be a six-point match? “I think we have to close the gap to the top teams, we have the advantage to decide our destiny in the six-point matches. We don’t play to win the Scudetto, we play to win the next one. I understand that the fans think about the game on Sunday, but it’s an important game this week in the Coppa Italia. Lazio is a tough opponent, we’ll play that game and think about Sunday afterwards.”

Will a lot of players be rested against Lazio since you have Juventus in the next game? “I will play with a starting formation that’ll make us move to the next round. I have to evaluate some of the players since the game tonight was tough, I’m happy that we got the three points. Lazio wants to do well on Tuesday and we have to be ready.”

When you accepted to coach Inter could you ever dream of seven straight victories and a fourth place? “I have always had a lot of confidence in my players and the work we do, and from the start that confidence has always grown. There is a quality and a work ethics that works as a good foundation to always perform well and to win games.”

Will Carizzo be the goalkeeper in the Coppa? “I haven’t made the final decisions yet. I always chose the best players for a game and I’ll do that on Tuesday.”

The fans going crazy for Gabigol, is that good or should they go back to earth? “The enthusiasm from the fans is always good, and help the players live up to their potential. The fans are close to us, they will be there on Tuesday and we need that. Barbosa should be happy of how they treat him,  and we need to do everything we can in order to keep him and to make him grow.”
