In today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, a brief interview with Sassuolo player Francesco Acerbi can be found. Once again, Inter has set their eyes on Acerbi, but they are not alone: “Leicester was a good chance, the Premier League is fascinating and I would have gotten the chance to play Champions League. I heard from Ranieri three times and said the same thing every time: If Sassuolo opens the door for me, I’ll be happy to come. Otherwise nothing. Now, I don’t know if I’ll get the chance again. But if it comes down to Inter or Leicester I’ll choose Inter.”
About Berardi: “I often ask myself why he isn’t already in Real Madrid, in Italy there is no one like him. I don’t give him any advise for his future, he didn’t feel ready for the next step and wanted to leave on his terms. Now he’s ready and all I know is that he will not do what everybody tells him to.”
About Zanetti and the record of consecutive games: “I have never counted my games. When they told me no one in Europe is doing better I thought that what matters is when Sunday comes and I get to play, because I always look forward to playing. But don’t call me a phenomenon, Zanetti is a phenomenon. 162 consecutive games, right? What a beast…”

Berardi and acerbi a nice duo for summer..and both Italian
Would be fantastic, plus 2 new fullbacks and offload milanista santon. Conti was great today, shame caldara going to Juve, Kessie doesn’t impress my compared to diawara… how did we not sign diawara, the guy is a complete beast!
Seems very informed about Inter! Like what he said about Berardi choosing between Juve or Inter and he then said that what happened to Zaza at Juve isn’t helping them persuading Berardi to join them rather than us!
Acerbi is a great defender, and would be a good transfer if we get him in this summer!
If we don’t make CL next season, which looks more than likely now after the loss, I’d rather get Acerbi for about 15m than Manolas for about 45m. Our CB department could use a boost, but I’m not sure if we need Manolas bad enough to spend 45m on him. That could be better spent on a game changing type player like Nainggolan, something he unfortunately helped me to realize after yesterday’s game. Joao Mario is close to being that player, but his goal scoring ability needs A LOT of work before he gets there. I know he’s not a favorite among most Interisti, but I think James might be our guy to be that game changer. The big issue is I don’t see him joining us without CL, so I’m not sure who that player can be for us next season.
According to rumurs sunning is planing on spending 300mil euro next summer plus the money we from the players we sell, so money won’t be an issue! Miranda is turning 33 next and not getting any younger, and Murillo has improved a lot in the 3man defense where he can focus on one thing; man-marking the other teams striker. But besides them we need squad deep seeing Andreolli isn’t getting any playing time and Ranno simply sucks so getting in to great defenders would be okay – if we have the money…
James is superb (10assits in 21games and 4goals is nothing but great numbers) as for not joining due to the lack of CL… well, not sure, players are joining big clubs all the time because of money and a promising project(just look at Pogba and Zlatan) and Suning can present both!
Mario plays his best football when he plays in the center midfield position I think, and could play next to Gagliardini with James in front of them….
Having the money won’t be an issue. but spending it might be. I think being able to spend that type of money this upcoming summer without the FFP rules effecting us was mostly dependent on CL qualification, which if we don’t get can prove problematic on several levels of the transfers. First, it won’t let us spend 300m in one mercato, maybe half of that if we’re lucky. Second, players like Pogba and Zlatan joined Man U for plenty of reasons, not just the project. Pogba was going back to his childhood club, while Ibra relished the opportunity to play under Mourinho once again. Also, there’s always the much bigger appeal of the PL as the biggest league in the world. At Inter we can only match their project and MAYBE the money, which will cause players like James to seek more alluring alternatives like Chelsea or even continue to stay and fight at Madrid. As for Miranda, I think we can get one more solid season out of him passed this one. After that a pairing of Manolas and Acerbi could do well, their styles compliment each other. Murillo on the other hand should be sold while his price tag remains high: I don’t think he has the potential to stay consistent enough to be Inter first team material. Joao Mario is definitely best as a box to box midfielder, but playing him and Gagliardini won’t be good enough defensively against the bigger teams. Looking at Roma yesterday, the essentially played the exact formation as we did: a 3-4-2-1 that can transition into a 4-2-3-1 in attack. The difference being is that while Kondogbia and Gagliardini were caught getting too far forward and leaving us vulnerable for the counter attack, Roma had De Rossi acting as cover for the defensive line, allowing Strootman to get even further forward. If we’re to compete with the big teams we need a De Rossi type defensive mid to sure up our back line against better opposition, allowing our other midfielders more freedom going forward. My shortlist includes Krychowiak, Fernando (Spartak Moscow, ex Sampdoria), and the two Portuguese tanks: Danilo Pereira and William Carvalho.
Would love us to get Krychowiak, and with Suning trying to by the Steller agency which amongst others “owns” Bale and Krychowiak that could be a reListic target in the future… besides if you play with three at the back you really don’t need a holding midfielder too – that’s too defensive and too Mazzarri for my tast…
About the spending problem… can’t really see why we should get into problems about spending our money. FFP says we have to find 30mil to balance out our budget by the end of June, and with player sale such as Ranno, Jojo and JJ and the money saved on Melo plus the 2 big sponsorship deals Suning has made with us I really think the money is there already.
Was thinking the same way, but we could use him sooner rather than later. I don’t see Inter using three at the back once we have a fully competent back line, there’d be no need to, but we would then have a need for a true holding midfielder. As for thee FFP, I’m not worried about us balancing the books, as you said I think it’s already done, but it has to do with the amount of money we can spend due to the extra income from CL qualification. Under current FFP rules you can only spend a certain amount of your profits (winnings/merchandise sales/tickets/sponsorship/TV rights) on transfers. Without the boost in income from CL qualification and a new stadium, Inter will never be allowed to spend the amount of money Suning would like to, at least in a single transfer window. There are loop holes within the system, such as Suning being sponsors for the kits and stadium, but CL qualification is still the most important because it boosts every type of profit.
of course inter.. you don’t want to go to that ungrateful team who sack their manager after give them the only thropy that they ever have..
Disgraceful management
also couldnt believe my eyes as i read it… this sport is not made for humans^^
feel so sorry for him… this man gave them everything they could ever dream of and after the first storm he must be gone….
