At the end of the defeat against Sampdoria, Stefano Pioli spoke Premium Sport about the defeat at San Siro.
“In the end it was negative, but now we have to prove we are not the team we showed in the second half. The whistles are there when you do not deploy all your qualities. We had opportunities to go forward but we had to be more of a team, this is the regret.”
What is the objective for Inter moving forward?
“Getting back to winning as soon as possible and play as a team for 95 minutes. We have the quality to giocarcela in every game.”
Were the players thinking too much as individuals rather than as a team?
“If you spend too much energy individually, the team is penalised. Samp gave us a lot on the wings and not very centrally, we used well, but lacked the cross. Samp also had chances in the final third where we had to be more careful. We put in heart but at the expense of the balance, which becomes difficult.
“We play with the goal to win always, and this has taken away lucidity there. The race did not finish at the 50th minute, in the first half we were the better team even when not in possession, then we were not able to take the ball from Sampdoria and this has unnerved us. Then the opportunities we have had, even in a frenzy, but this is just a small piece of the evaluation to do. We had to be a team until the 95th minute, and we did not succeed. ”
Why he did not replace Brozovic?
“Gagliardini had requested to be subbed, Perisic had a little problem with his adductor, I held it as long as I could. But the performance did not depend on the individual, we had to be more compact.”
Does Pioli fear for his future if Inter don’t move up the table?
“I have no fear or other thoughts if you do not pull the most out of players. The results tell the future; I’m not afraid and I do not think. The sums will be complete on May 28, we have other opportunities to demonstrate we are a good team.”

First half we were quite balanced, but our attack was just toothles. How hard is to attack like a normal team without crossing all the damn time? Second half Gaglia got injured and all hell broke loose with Kondo and Brozo running all over the place leaving our midfield completely exposed. And we kept crossing and crossing. And Cagliardini might be out for a longer period – the horror! I can live in pain with that manic crossing, but the inbalanced midfielfd that makes our gameplay just plain chaotic is the most the depressing thing with this current roster.
The problem is Brozobitch, every time he plays he just sabotages our gameplan
Both Brozo and Kondo can go during summer for all I care. At least one of them has to be replaced with a midfielder that has footballing IQ.
Kondo is doing great.
Yes, when playing with Cagliardini, because his lack of positional sense is covered. But yes, with Caglia he has actually done really good recovering balls from opposition. But, I still think Kondo’s passing ability and non-existing shooting skills isn’t good enough for a team we are aiming to become.
He did hundreds of ball winnings yesterday and was the only responsible player in the field for us.
He wins balls and is VERY good at that, specially with right kind of a partner in midfield. I’d keep him over Brozo, but in a long run I see K-dog having a too limited set of skills for a truly top team. My view on Kondogbia is that he is great at wrestling away balls from the opposition, but not smart enough in positioning, directing the opponents to play ball to safer areas and making sure there ain’t big wholes in the areas he’s supposed to cover so that dangerous counter attacks don’t occur. He is sloppy at passing and loses the ball dangerously during every game he starts. He has no vision when passing so he can do only simple passes. When passing the ball he can’t read the movement of other players thus his passes end up mostly in the feet of the opponent. In conclusion, he sucks at passing. It is also harder to find worse shooter of the ball from football world than Kondogbia, seriously, even kids can shoot the ball better. So in my view his weaknesses outdo his good traits to be good enough for a first player at a club Inter is aiming to be. And this is just my view, and also the last novel I will write about mr. Kondogbia.
Right on the point, Kondogbia is good at tackling, but at many other things he is very poor.
Our views of football are so distant
It happens. Kondo is not shit player, but I’ll quote Bergomi’s comment published on this site today: “The loss of Gagliardini took away a bit of geometry: he finds the ball everywhere and ties the game together, while Brozovic and Kondogbia are a bit messy.” That’s a nice way of saying Brozo and Kondo both have quite low footballing IQ’s.
The honeymoon is over for Pioli.
His flaws and lacks are becomming more and more obvious each game.
It’s so humiliating to see atalanta above us in the table.. Next week maybe Milan
Ok, i didn’t watch the game and by reading the comments, it seems like we were pretty fucked up
I see why he likes Brozovic because of his vertical passing which is great when he gets them in. But!!!! At what cost? He takes away the balance from the team. How many balls won by him? He likes to get forward but defensively he’s not there to help. Pioli bro I believe in you don’t let that change. Stop with this love for this guy until or if you have the team to use him in which isn’t until a defensive mid is in the lineup!
He has done some good ,solid, common sense work for us initially ..but this time there is no doubt :
He really could not read or understand the game, every single move he did made us actually worse.
And even in Torino …same thing.
The subs made us worse.
why the fuck you still put that idiot brozoshit to the line up ??!!!!!!!
just throw him to the reserve team !!!
Stop choosing delusional line ups with fucking Brozobitch and stop sticking to Candreva’s candy ass or you’ll be be gone because of poor results
A draw or defeat against Milan and he can may as well leave, along with some low IQ players. All blame on De boer but still no point in keeping pioli if we dont qualify for the bare minimum Europa and there is now a real danger of undoing all the good work.
