Yesterday in Rome, the first steps towards renewing Patrik Schick’s contract with Sampdoria were taken. Sampdoria is trying to update Schick’s buy-out clause from 25 million euros to 40 million euros.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Inter is once again in pole position for the Czech player and Piero Ausilio will ask Zhang Jindong, currently in Milan, for the number that will bring Schick to Inter, much like how the deal with Gagliardini was closed.
Juventus seem to relax at the moment, while Inter wants to speed up the process. Beware of teams like Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Arsenal and City who have their eyes on the young Czech.

Pointless acquisition considering that Inter is very weak in other areas. I’d rather play Eder as an Icardi sub and invest in defenders. Plus there are always Primavera players like Pinamonti.
1. We need a back-up striker to Icardi. We’ve been lucky this season that he wasn’t unjured.
2. He can play with him. Schick moves around a lot, Icardi stay in the box. Ideal partner for Icardi in a 4-4-2.
3. Pinamonti is 17. It’s not like he’s proven.
4. 25m is well within our range. Imagine if he breaks out next season & there’s Barca & Real offering 45-60 for him.
Pinamonti is not ready. Only a crazy team would rely on him filling Icardi’s boots. How many times have I heard this same song here on Alibec’s, Livaja’s and god knows how many of our own prospects. We can also invest on defenders and get some money from Eder while we can. Besides he’s old and not really target player.
Can’t understand the hype around this guy. He’s just an average player.
Mad person. This guy will make you look foolish.
Watched him a couple of times, doesn’t really have ANYTHING special.
Big guy with skill that can also create scoring opportunities, good shot with both feet. Really good potential. Watch last week ends Samp-Crotone highlights for example.
Reminds of Julio Cruz… Very well. My vote is OK now. 😀
The big question of course is do we really need him… Icardi is like god at our club so it’s hard see him ever not starting except when injured. Simeone and 4-4-2 is my dream that I’m holding on until it’s certain he will not join us.
442 with “Candreva – GagliarDogbia – Perisic” and “Icardi – Schick” will be perfect for us.
Yeah, but I’d still buy another good forward to compete with them. Candy and Perisic are pretty much made for 4-4-2. JM could be good winger for 4-4-2, but what do I know. I mean that Schick can still turn out to be Amauri, but I see good risk/reward ratio there.
The problem is we don’t know how much money we have to spend. Defence is the top priorty naturally. Our owners are really rich, so Simeone could have free hands while with Pioli they could think like “Nah, we don’t trust him enough to let him spend that much of our money..” It’s all speculation for us that is based on those super unreliable football gossips.
There isnt really any point in buying an expensive forward. Icardi is a sure starter for the years to come and he is almost never injured and in a 4231/433 there is simply not room for anyone else.
Even if a new coach would play with 2 forwards, then surely a more creative would be the prefered choice.
We kind of need a back up striker for Icardi if Eder and Palacio leave. Even if they stayed we pretty much need one. And Schick would enable us to play with two (good) forwards. Who would be a cheap and really good back up for Icardi? And don’t say Pinamonti, because he isn’t ready.
No idea, but it definitely should NOT be a young talent like Schick who relies on playing time to develop, it would be a complete waste.
Dont use young talents as backups, it will be another Gabigol situation. Especially since icardi is both the captain and the best player in the team, he is irreplaceable and will play 95% of the time unless injured, which he rarely is.
Valid point. If we’d play with two strikers Schick would definitely be better option then. But our coaching situation is so damn unsure that decisions like getting him would be risky. I just hate this situation we’re in atm. Berardi could be a guy that might be able to do wing and cf, but I’m not that sure he would raise this teams level.
If you pay 35 mil for Gabiflop and are willing to give him 2,7 mil per year contract, then surely you can pay 25 mil for this guy that impresses every week in Serie A. Or is the problem that he isn’t brazilian or italian?
Anyways, have to give big thumbs up for Ausilio who had his eyes on this kid before he became a big talking point. And wrap this deal up already before those Juve dickheads buy him!
