Suning continues to wait for Antonio Conte, but according to TuttoSport Diego Simeone remains as the first alternative. But beware of “Cholo’s” buy-out clause: “Should Atletico Madrid fail to qualify for the UCL Simeone is free to go at no cost”. Hard though to see Atletico fail when they are at fourth place, 8 point down to fifth place with 4 games remaining.
Depending on how this year’s UCL adventure ends, voices in Spain are talking about Simeones stint with Atletico coming to an end. Informal contacts with Inter has already been made and Inter VP, Javier Zanetti, is a great friend of Simeone who already has started talking about aquiring players, Arda Turan.
Nothing confirmed yet, some people think Simeone will stay, in some parts due to the new stadium, and others think he will be part of the true Inter of Suning.

That certainly would be something that happens to us XD But seriously, he wouldn’t fail. Two champions league finals, EL victory, la liga crown and copa del rey with Atletico that was hopeless underperformer is no fluke. Simeone is the real deal and the best bet we can make. Of course during first season I would only expect CL qualification.
Agree a great coach and motivator plus he is used to work with youngsters and to bring the best out in them.
As for the buying part which has been nothing but super impressive at Atletico I’d love to get their director of sport the Italian Andrea Berta. That man I said nothing but a genius and Simeone and him have more or less singlehanded build Atletico to what they are today.
Knowing our fans, we’d have him sacked by February for under performing and then back to year 0…
