A lot of Italian newspapers confirms this today, Corriere dello Sport is one example and explains what is to come: “PSG wants this deal and the two clubs are working on a deal that would send Perisic to Paris and Di Maria the opposite way. There is still a difference when it comes to the prize, Inter wants 60 million euros, PSG is willing to pay 45”.
But the main issue is the salary where Di Maria is asking 10 million of euros per season: “Inter has to resolve how to pay Di Maria who currently gets 18 million of euros per season in PSG. Maybe a solution where the inital salary is lower and gets increased at the end of his contract is possible. This would mean that Di Maria would be the highest paid Inter player with approximately 6-6.5 million of euros. According to the contract signed last year, the current highest paid Inter player is Mauro Icardi with 4.85 million of euros”.

Perisic and Di Maria are also very different types of wingers. Perisic can actually contribute when defending, while Di Maria is completely useless in this regard.

Gagliardini and Nainggolan can defend very well, you don’t need a proper CDM in a 2 man midfield, this partnership will be more than solid. Those are the defenders we are linked with, maybe Conti instead Danilo, but he’s closer to BBilan. Pepe is Real’s best defender, he was injured this season, but he can still be world class for 1 year if not 2.
The midfield defending got worse with Fagliardini so im not sure how that claim makes any sense.

Have to agree with you on this one. Dalbert, Danilo, Di Maria, Bernardeschi and James floating around there eating popcorn when they are not attacking. Even if the cb’s and dmc’s would be absolute world class this team looks like a recipe for disaster.
Spalletti was playing Nainggolan behind Dzeko so we’ll probably get either Nainggolan or James. Not both. We’ll probably get Tolisso or Krychowiak to play alongside Gagliardini.

You can’t change the whole team each season and expect to have the team play with chemistry, attitude and sacrifice. Even if we could get all this players, then we’d still have to sell all the current players and we’d be right back in the FFP black book.
