Eder performed really well tonight, could he be the next vice-Icardi? “If I have to make my own considerations I think Pinamonti is an important player on a younger level, his convocation in the Under 21 confirms that. Eder is in the national team, so I don’t think he will break. With me he has got more space and have done well. But it is up the club and the new coach do decide upon that”.

Did you really say “Good luck, wherever you go” to Perisic? “No, I cursed him (laughing). I don’t know how the mercato will look like, I read what happens in the newspapers. He has never mentioned that he will leave”.

What message do you have for the next coach? “That the team has to find back to the right working moral. This has been our greatest challenge, and I want to thank the entire team for how they have handled these last games of the season and their will to finsish it in a good way”.

Tonight we saw a greater connection with midfield and attack thanks to Eder. Couldn’t this have been a good solution in the start of the season? “Our offense doesn’t only depend on our attackers, we need the right organisation in defence and in midfield. Some of the games this has happened, in November against Crotone. But it’s hard to keep up that kind of play and it comes with a lot of risks”.
