In an exclusive interview with Corriere dello Sport Christian Vieri has no doubts whether or not the Chinese Inter should get back to the top: “Inter has to work hard during this mercato and must succeed in signing important players that can make a difference. But for sure, the team has a good foundation to build from, especially form an economical point of view. Having this as a starting point promises good things for the future. Maybe it is too early to start dreaming about the Scudetto now, but within short I think we will see an Inter that we remember from their latest era of titles.”

Haha close? What a joke.
The team ended 29 points behind the scudetto winner, that’s not a gap you close just in a summer or two, especially with signings and potential targets inter have so far this mercato.
It’s going to take 3 seasons back in the CL at least before good enough players can be attracted to realistically build a scudetto team, definitely won’t happen this decade.
The priority now is build a team that can qualify for the CL every season again, any talk about scudetto is absolutely hilarious and extremely premature.
Yes your words have logic but,,, why the hell not to aim for the scudetto??
We are fucking Internazionale.. the winning mentality simply starts with informing & educating all first team players (even if they were shiity players) that we are inter & we must always & always aim for scudetto every season.
Remember Juve six years ago? When they got the first scudetto no one thought they could do it & didnt really have great players but… they had Conte.
A coach who slap & scream on each player in every game to do their best, no matter how good or bad the player is, he will perform in the game.
Thats why i hoped we got conte cause even with this current squad he would’ve taken us so far in the league.
Guys forget about all this crap about building building building etc, now we have Spaletti & i hope will bring us back the winning mentality which will make us have a big shot on the scudetto.
we always kept aiming for Scudetto in the past years, we can see how that ended. Inter management will always aim for it (at least in the press), but theres not enough quality to back it up, any football enthusiast know that. most of the fans wont acknowledge it, but there is absolutely no chance to win the Scudetto within 2 years. i cant see Juve suddenly become mediocre like we did after the treble, they became financially stable something that we still cant say about ourselves, let alone that is going to guarantee they will stay on top, maybe even after their current best/prime players start do decline
I like ur comment Zselic I agree.
The difference now is that Juve are still strong, also the difference is that now we have the chinese money which we must use to cut the gap with Juve.
I think the coach is the most important thing now to us.
The past years we did not really have a coach with strong personality.
Now we got Spaletti which I believe that hopefully he will make the difference and be our best summer signing.
thats true but keep in mind, if we wont get our own stadium OR become a CL-team the FFP will still bite us in the ass in 2 years. thats why its crucial to grab the 4th place and gradually improve year by year
Yes 4th place is a must, i prefer if sunning can convince the Milano authorities to buy the Giueseppe Meazza and try to push Bilan out, its really hard though, so maybe better to start looking for a new stadium.
The interesting part of watching football actually is about expecting the unexpected. No one expect us to win treble at the start of the season in 2010. No one can guarantee that milito can make us forget about ibra’s dominance. Winning scudetto when you already ‘big’ is a normal thing to do. But when we achieve it by breaking the odd with limited squad (not the current one lol) is a completely different thing.
What about Leicester who got an EPL title without any big players?)
What about it? It was a freak anomaly that happens like once every 25 years.
