I like Balde Keita, but this is not enough to strengthen our attack. We need to sign Berardi now. I will be happy and humble if we sign both Keita and Berardi against Perisic departure. To tell you the truth ,even if you watch the highlights of Banega (different kind of player, I know) just this season with us alone ,and you would see Banega doing high quality stuff that Keita couldn’t even dream at night .
Keita is pretty good.
Berardi is very good too, for example,not as fast but he has some different, better qualities and high effectiveness in everything he does.
I am not all insane about Keita ,he is pretty good, that’s all.
I feel we need players that are guaranteed to carry us and make the difference for us, even character -wise.
Ideally Alexis Sanchez,but I have 4-5 more names I like a lot,more than Keita, but that’s just me.

Replacing Perisic with Keita Balde is downgrading our left side in terms of defensive contribution. However, Keita ability to do cut off moved & tricky dribbling (not one dimensional winger like Perisic) also approximately the same level pacey with Perisic, it’s obviously bolster the offensive department. Furthermore, he’s set as SS or CF position lately and proved to be a lethal finisher. To sum up, Keita is more versatile than Perisic, he can be vice-Icardi or complement too. Fixing up our downgrading defensive contribution, I heard our ds duo almost finish Dalbert signing. I really hope he will do well in Spalletti plan.

People here is complaining thohir for running football like business. This deal is good in business perspective but bad in football perspective. It’s clear keita isnt near as good as perisic and maybe needs couple of years to reach its potential. Meanwhile we need someone as calibrr as perisic to replace him right away.

Banega was sacrificed for FFP. Otherwise we had to sell Perisic for 30m. And I think Valero is an upgrade in that position. I don’t think Jojo will play another game for Inter ever again. He doesn’t get on well with his teammates and Icardi in particular. It’s good that management has focused on improving the defense first and there’s plenty of time for transfers so let’s be patient and let the new coach and new management work. Milan has gone wild but they are taking a great risk to get punished by FFP next year and may have to panic sell next season.

The thing about Keita is the speed ,yes,but as far as qualities or all around effectiveness…I can think of 2 or 3 just as promising.

In the midfield Pellegrini ,20 years old ,he is all around amazing to me, very complete, will start for Roma next season.

In the same or similar roles as Keita everybody knows Bernardeschi, Berardi or even 19 years old Chiesa.who is just as fast as Keita.
And 19 years old Orsolini is a spectacular winger, also as fast as Keita.

I do like him but this is not a “big purchase”. He is a youngster from Lazio who has potential. Bonucci is a big purchase, this isn’t. We are basically downgrading our left wing.
Downgrading our left wing while improvising our weaker positions seems wise to me. We’ve to be down to earth and not expect big money signings like di Maria. Without the UCL revenue, we would struggle to meet the FFP requirement. This season we should look to rebuild with young yet ready talents and get to the UCL. It comes down to Spalletti and the work ethic at the end. When we get to UCL, we can start spending. I mean come on, I’d sell Perisic for 50m it’s a good deal for a 28 years old. Top professional no doubt.
We’ll get a big purchase, but probably in August. For now, this is a great deal.
16 goals and 3 assists from Keita last season compared to Perisic at 11 goals and 8 Assists. Would hardly call that a downgrade.
Our wingers mostly feed Icardi though. And you can’t measure a player’s worth by stats. Lets see how much will Keita work in defense. Without Perišić Nagatomo and company are going to get raped next season.
And we need to work away from only feeding Icardi, the constant crossing being our only form of attach is weak, we need more threat through the middle, and more goals from other areas.
