Inter coach Luciano Spalletti talked to SKY during post-game interviews and this is what he had to say: “Tonight I saw a team that wanted something and a team that was susceptible for input. I think we deserved tonight’s win, although there were some moments where we failed to maintain the right rythm. The positioning of our attacking wingers put Fiorentina in difficulties since it opened up space for our fullbacks. We need to maintain our balance on the other side, but these situations put you in a condition to play against the oppositions defence that is in disarray. To play only on counter attack is an extinct ideology because today football is all about controlling the game. Gagliardini is one of a few players that knows how to play both of these phases.
During the second half, Fiorentina deserved a goal because we lost a lot of balls. We have to do like we did at the beginning: create everything from the back and move possession to our opponents half. When our opponents attack us, spaces open up for us, this is something we have to take advantage of. Today’s analysis is: the defence was right, the team was compact like a rock, both Perisic and Icardi won back possession and these are details that matter because this is the right path. Also, having this kind of support from our fans gave us a lot of enthusisasm and it helped the players performing like they did”.

Simeone really impressed me. Really unlucky not to score. I hope he joins Inter some day.
I am wondering if Candrava listened to what the Coach is saying in the article. Meaning he still isn’t playing at a high level and really needs someone to challenge him on that wing. Imo I would let Chelsea have him if we can get someone who can do better. Cancelo looks to be that guy although he is to replace Mr33 I believe he should play higher up.
if we sell Candreva, better we buy another RW. let Cancelo take the RB post. this way each player will have to only focus on their own roles, and I think it is better for the long term.
problem is, if we play Cancelo up front as starter, then one of our worse fullbacks will have to play RB maybe for 90 mins and that’s not a good thing. 🙁
