In an interview with Calciomercato.it the agent Augusto Carpeggiani revealed that Inter was really close in signing Sassuolo defender Francesco Acerbi. “There was a missed opportunity this summer, there were contacts, talks and some negotiations but after the arrival of Luciano Spalletti and Walter Sabatini things changed and other choices were made. After that the contract with Sassuolo was renewed until 2022”.
