Bayern Munich’s Chilean midfielder, Arturo Vidal, expressed his frustrations after being substituted out against Celtic in the 59th minute in yesterday’s Champions League fixture away against the Scottish Champions.

The former Juventus midfielder made it clear after the match that he did not agree with the decision to be brought off in a match that ended in a 2-1 victory over Celtic, and Bayern Munich manager, Jupp Heynckes commented on Vidal’s reaction with some understanding: “I think it is a good thing to be angry, and if a substituted player is jeered, there’s something wrong. He’s a very ambitious player, when I was replaced, I was never too happy.”

Bayern Munich’s win last night effectively ended any hopes Celtic had of qualifying for the second round of the Champions League. Former Juventus midfielder Kingsley Coman opened the scoring at Celtic Park in the 22nd minute before Callum McGregor equalized for Celtic in the 74th minute. However shortly after the equalizer, Spanish midfielder Javi Martinez scored the winning goal for the reigning Bundesliga Champions in the 77th minute.
