Joao Cancelo’s start with the Nerazzurri has not been very productive. Since his arrival in Milano, Joao Cancelo has only accounted for 43 minutes of play in an Inter shirt and is yet to be featured in the starting eleven for the Nerazzurri.

Spanish media outlet Superdeporte points out that the Portuguese international has played more minutes in his farewell match with Valencia than he has during his first two months at Inter. Joao Cancelo’s missed time has also been due to a knee injury that has kept him out of action for five games for the Nerazzurri.

He sustained this injury while training with the Portuguese national team shortly after signing with Inter. The only games Cancelo has been featured in has been against Roma (6 minutes) Milan (17 minutes) Napoli (7 minutes) and Hellas Verona (11 minutes).

Joao Cancelo has been called up by Fernando Santos for Portugal’s friendlies with Saudi Arabia on November 10th and the United States on November 14th.
