Inter midfielder Assane Gnoukouri is awaiting the green light from doctors to resume his playing career after his heart problem that has kept him out of action for around about a year.

The heart problem was first flagged up when he underwent a medical ahead of a loan switch to fellow Serie A side Udinese. The Ivorian midfielder will have what is hoped to be his final therapy session on January 16 and hopes to be told he can get back in training starting at the end of month if not some point in February.

After a prolonged period on the sidelines, it is unlikely that the central midfielder will see first team action any time soon but it would seem like his heart problem is now almost over. The 21-year-old, who has one senior international cap, is under contract with Inter until 2020 having joined the club back in 2014 from lower league club AltoVicentino.
