Spalletti’s Inter took to SPAL today to finally pick up three points that would have felt so good and reassuring to a negative out of form Inter. Spalletti’s side lacked so much urgency and they just looked as if they weren’t ready to play, as if the three points that they so desperately needed would just be handed to them because they’re so entitled to it. If this group of players doesn’t wake up and take responsibility for their poor performances they will miss out on Champions League qualification which will surely drive Icardi away from the club, the player Inter have been building a club around. It will be a huge waste and the prevention of it all begins by picking up full points against teams like a 16th place SPAL.
First of all, in a game where Inter fail to generate any sort of scoring opportunity you need to put your best men up to the plate and give them their chance and no matter how much he has built himself up in the establishment Eder cannot and will not be a difference maker. At this point Spalletti should have thrown everything out there and give Rafinha his half on the wing in place of Candreva or even substitute Brozovic and leave Rafinha his natural attacking midfielder position and just see what happens.
The ball was moving nicely and that wasn’t the issue, the main concern was that nobody took it upon themselves to try and dribble past the opposition besides Cancelo and Perisic. Adding Rafinha to the mix would have easily provided so much more vertical movement up and down the field which, in turn, would have opened up space for our wingers to be able to produce crosses or higher quality shots.
Another problem that was very evident was that Icardi, once again had absolutely no distribution line from anywhere, he was completely secluded and that’s exactly what SPAL wanted to do with him. When you have one of the best poachers around on your team you need to let him feast and giving him one chance in the middle of the first half is just not enough to win you games. In order for Mauro Icardi to become involved in the game was to drop so deep into his own half that he was almost in line with Vecino and Borja Valero. He received zero through balls in a central position which is why SPAL’s tight and compact, almost, five back formation was able to push the balls out wide and which comes full circle to leaving Mauro Icardi alone with almost always three players in the box at all times. All in all there just wasn’t any generation up front to be able to win the game in a convincing manner.
Barella – We could try and get now
Skrilniar – Summer Target
Chiesa – Try now but with Fiorentina struggling they might keep him. If not definitely try in the summer buy-out or we can even swap with Candreva
Cancelo on the left was a bad move; he has been our best player the last 4-5 games ON THE RIGHT so why play him ON THE LEFT??
Perisic is awefull at the moment, Brozo too, and Eder adds nothing to anything. If someone wants to buy Candreva; be my guest – and yes Pastore would be insane as our Attacking midfielder and Rafinha could be very useful next to Vecino, but we need options on the wings ASAP seing Perisic has stopped to give a rats ass about anything and Candreva being too predictable.
If we add that in the coming days we might stand a chance of getting the 4th place seing Roma is in big truble and trying to sell their best players constantly!
now 4th place seems to be opened for at least 5 team. even bbilan have their chance now..
I also wanted to see Rafinha play at least 20-25 min. May be he is not ready yet or perhaps Spalletti doesn’t like to put players that haven’t learnt his tactics yet. But still, why put Eder if we’re trying to sell him????
this is sick.. i can’t believe we have to thanks bbilan and sampdoria to save our ass and keep our hope for UCL alive.. SMH
Thanks to bbilan!??
Holly shoot, hard to say but yeah, thanks again..
LOL.. XD
All in all, idk it’s bitter or better since the duo roman have beaten…
The problem is that Spalletti only consider maybe 13-14 players good enough for playing and therefore keep the same formation everytime. Well this is Serie A the most tactical league in the world. If you play the same way over over over again chances are that every goddamn team easily defends against it. It is so obvious as Inter doesnt create many clear cut chances and thus doesnt score. One doesnt need an IQ of 180 to figure this out, so why not start Pinamonti, Karamoh etc. and be a complete surprise and tell these youngster that they have the chance of a lifetime to show them self. Just look at Cutrone who was given a chance and are keeping Kalinic and €37M man Andre Silva out.
So dear mr. Spalletti be unpredictable and play our youngsters or else you are shown the exit door. Simeone is waiting.
Spaletti mus read this
While starting Pinamonti or Karamoh is a bit extreme, I agree that after 7 games the coach needs to change things up. Maybe put a second striker and take a MF out or switch to 3 at the back. Anything to bring back the element of surprise. Inter’s play is so predictable and all teams have the same gameplan: cover Icardi and Perisic, push the ball wide, wait for them to make a mistake and give the ball to your fastest winger. At the end against Roma, we became dangerous when we pushed Vecino and Brozo up the pitch and had Dalbert and Cancelo double the runs on the wing to pull defenders away and stretch the field. Just do this from the beginning. Yes, they are defensive liabilities but we can take that chance against Spal, can’t we?
hey guys,
I was a BLACK SHEEP when I was earlier writing what you write now…
better be (black) sheep than sheeply. o.k., o.k, it was “too early”.
what do you say,
is there a light at the end of this tunnel,
how far is the light,
is spalle the man who can lit the light ?
are we going to see the magical turning point or the point of no return ?
———————-
the team is quite shaked, no self-confidence in game produces no luck in game, transfer window is in head of brozović, eder, their one leg and “half of the brain” are already outside the club and spalle brings them in team to “save the season” etc.
Spal was so damn weak yet their coach outplayed spaletti like all the other Coaches did the Last 2 month at this point you can way it seems Inter has the wrong Coach..one dimensional tactics..4-2-3-1 day 1-38? Subs on 84 and 87 th minute?!
You have a squad for other formations Even against a tiny side like spal (seria b next year) you stick to the Same Formation that has been easy too neutralise by minnows?
Spaletti out!!!
Exactly
Why not start benching players that don’t perform…candreva, brozovic, even perisic… just to make them to wake the fuck up! What the hell is wrong when we buy players for great amount of money if we don’t rotate when shit doesn’t work?! This all on spalleti and he deserves criticism for not making changes to show the group that you can have an off game sometimes but not fucking 7-8 times in row! This is not good enough for a team with ambition to reach CL and what if we make it there with this shitty play? Is it enough to just participate or are we going in to be a top european team again… step the fuck up or make room!
Not like the subs are playing any better. With only one game per week, our players aren’t fatigued either.
You damn right
Doesnt brozo was bench till we ask him to replace gagli?now if brozo bench who will replace him?gagli again?i think were stuck with shit player, thats the problems.
Word! I hate the attitude from Perisic and Brozo. Obviously Persisic have the quality if he gets off his as*… Brozo? Couldn’t care less where that lazy excuse of a midfielder ends up. Horrible player whit absolutly nothing to offer when the team is in trouble. What a wast of talent by a hopeless attitude.
Candreva? Yes, he tries more, but he does nothing at the moment. At least karamoh would add pace and I BET he would hit his players when crossing with a higher succesrate than Candreva..
Then there is Borja, who gave the ball away over and over. He is not the architect I was expecting. We must find better.
Vecino, Galiardino? There might be time, but maybe they are just best of as rotation players.
Like the post said: wht the f*** not pyt in Rafinha from the start of the second half, when it is clear we were creating ZERO. We were saved by an own goal against SPAL??! That just screams C.R.I.S.I.S right to your face.
I hate to see this sorry kind of football week after week. Planing the whole day around cacthing the game and then just being left with the feeling that nobody cares to play. So yes, bring on the subs og even primivera players like Emmers. Send a signal to the “stars”, that will hit them like a hammer in the face.
So sick of this.
i agree 100%. planning whole weekend in advance, just to see these clowns, that take so much money for doing nothing over and over again. If i worked like them at my work, i would be without it in a blink of an eye. Them? nah, give them better contract, they deserve it. No wonder why nobody wants to get out from inter. They are literally on a paid vacation here. So why would they go elsewhere, where they would actually have to do something instead of nothing and get paid?
Get a dribbling winger and tie Crossdreva to the bench for the rest of the season.
