The President of Racing de Avallaneda wanted to set a new record with the transfer of Lautaro Martinez to Inter and he did.

The agreement between the two parties is believed to be 33 million dollars, as Blanco himself revealed. This is the highest transfer sum for a player from an Argentine club.

The previous record belonged to Independent, when in 2006 they sold Sergio Aguero to Atletico Madrid for 28 million dollars.

Inter spent a similar figure on the Brazilian sensation Gabriel Barbosa (Gabigol) two Summers ago, after his impeccable goal record at Santos was backed up during the Olympics when he and his Brazil teammates won a gold medal. The Nerazzurri will be hoping that Lautaro Martinez will have a more instant impact this time, while Gabigol has recently returned to Santos on loan to rediscover his form. With the two of them set to arrive in Milan during the Summer, Inter fans could be treated with watching them play together, not to mention Mauro Icardi.
