The progress of Mauro Icardi and Ivan Perisic is being monitored closely before deciding whether they are fit to return against Genoa. The two are Spalletti’s biggest reliance in front of goal, for no one else on the team has scored more than 5 goals this season.

Gazzetta dello Sport reports that yesterday,”the captain, trained with the group, but only took part in the field work and although his inclusion against Genoa is still uncertain, the signs are certainly positive.”

Similar to Ivan Perisic, who was seen in the gym. The Croatian winger suffered a shoulder injury against Bologna which seemed to cause him great discomfort for the remainder of the second half, while Spalletti used all three of his substitutes.

Inter have just come out of 2 month period without a win, following their last victory against Bologna. During that period, the biggest criticism was for their lack of creativity in the final third, if Inter were to be without their two  biggest goal threats again in Genoa, who are in fantastic form, it might not be the turnaround that is expected.
