Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio was present at last night’s Champions League encounter between Roma and Shakhtar Donetsk. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Ausilio looked at two from Shakhtar and one from Roma.

Attacking midfielder Bernard was one of the Shakhtar players being watched. The Brazilian, who holds a Spainish passport, will become a free agent on July 1st and is deemed as perfect for the Nerazzurri’s strategy, although the player does not seem to be taking clubs without Champions League (at least for now) into account. Therefore if Bernard does not come, without Champions League, in the Summer then Inter will look to his teammate Facundo Ferreyra, an Argentine with an Italian passport. He could also be considered if compatriot Mauro Icardi is to be sold by the Nerazzurri.

The third and final player Ausilio watched was Roma’s Kevin Strootman. The Dutchman’s contract does not expire until 2022 but he remains a very sought after addition in the eyes of Luciano Spalletti. Gazzetta also warn that if Inter wish to add him to their ranks they will have to pay his €45 million release clause.
