From a transient to a necessity, Marcelo Brozovic has made a turnaround, for the good, in recent weeks, making himself the thus far, irreplaceable holding midfielder for Inter and Spalletti. “The Croatian, alongside Gagliardini (while Summer signings Borja Valero and Vecino are benched) have been the kick-starters of this shift in form for the Nerazzurri”,as has been underlined by Corriere dello Sport.
Furthermore, last year, during the best period for Inter under Stefano Pioli, Brozovic also played just in front of the defence, in tandem with Gagliardini. Then an injury against Juventus ended up breaking the “magic”. The Croatian’s recovery has not been a quick one, for a long time he was not used in deeper role, but now with Gagliardini again, Inter are performing at their best similarly to the beginning of the season.
However, some may still have concerns regarding the form of Brozovic and will not want to forgive him yet, given his famous lack of continuity which has been a recurring problem for many years now. Spalletti will hope that he won’t have to watch the same film for the umpteenth time like so many Nerazzurri fans.
