Yesterday Lautaro Martinez arrived in Milano, accompanied by the President of Racing Club, Victor Blanco and Sporting Director, Diego Milito. Today he’ll have his medicals and thus, begins the Argentine’s Inter-adventure which, despite the Club of Avellaneda’s attempts, will begin in July under Spalletti.

Martinez will play with the number 10 but is an atypical striker: very good technically, with excellent movement across the front line. Very different to what Inter currently have but he has a great determination, having earned his nickname as the Bull.

Gazzetta dello Sport sees similarities between himself and the likes of Crespo and Batisuta, but to be more accurate, he’s more reminiscent of Aguero. “He could easily play next to Icardi, they’re styles balance each other naturally”, as described by Gazzetta. However, in a scenario in which the Captain is not playing, Martinez will have to play as the number 9. Therefore, he will have to learn how to score “dirty” goals, considering that most of his goals are golazo’s. When he trained with Higuain, Aguero and Messi, it was clear that he still needs to go up a gear to make it in Europe. He will learn this in Serie A. There is no doubt that he will lead the Argentine attack in the next two World Cups.

He has a fiery passion, which can sometimes get him into trouble. For instance, in a game against Cruzeiro, he argued with the linesman, resulting in a yellow card, even could of been a red. His desire to win is a natural part of his character, which interestingly goes hand-in-hand with his zodiac, as the Taurus. He is often seen talking with opposition defenders and motivating his team. It’s no coincidence that Simeone wanted him at Atletico. He has a fighter mentality like Cholo. In the end, Inter won and it’s time to enjoy it.
