Massimo Ferrero, the President of Sampdoria, was speaking with Sportitalia and Calciomercato, com made waves as he usually does when he speaks to the press. The dominant theme was obviously the arrival of Walter Sabatini as the new technical coordinator.

The former Inter employee was convinced by Ferrero who explained that: ” I presented him with our project to grow Sampdoria. We were looking for added value, which Mr. Sabatini has proven he can bring over the years. I chose Sabatini because I wanted quality and although it cost a lot, I gave it my heart because I know he does not care about money too much and just loves football. He’s committed to this project. Is this a step back from Inter? My players are not lame.”

The topic of discussion then moved to the possible ongoing dealings with Inter namelt Karamoh, Ranocchia and Santon which he glided over in a few words: “I have to sell to Inter, not the other way round” before adding – “I was gutted when Eder left, I honestly do not know if I would bring him back. When a player leaves, the return is usually a disappointment.  Just like most sequels in films.”
