It has been a very busy period for Inter at this stage of the transfer window, as the Nerazurri have finally secured their targets at right-back in Vrsaljko and in midfield in Vidal, with both players being just one or two steps away from becoming official Nerazzurri players.
However, this does not spell the end of Inter’s market and SportItalia claim that Inter plan on accelerating their approach for Nicolo Barella, to avoid big competition. In order to secure the young Italian, who Cagliari have valued at least at €30 million, the Nerazurri must first sell a player, with Joao Mario topping the departure list.
Additionally, it can not be ruled out that to sweeten the deal, Inter might allow Cagliari to keep Barella for one more season on loan, should the Nerazzurri sell enough players to be able to afford an outright purchase.
It’s unlikely Inter will pay cash up front for Barella, due to the fact that they have at least one more year of tight Financial Fair Play restrictions and will want comply again this year so they might have a bit more freedom in next Summer’s window.
