Speaking at a press conference before Barcelona’s friendly match against Roma, Rafinha answered questions about his future: “If I knew, I would tell you. There have been many stories [in reference to his latest link with Lazio], which is why I let my agents do the work. I spent five great months at Inter and I would of liked to continue there but I am a Barcelona player.”

Links with Inter have greatly dimished since Ausilio’s blitz signings of Vrsaljko and Vidal, but many fans will still feel as if there are weak spots in the team that Rafinha could and deserves to fill, but Barcelona have not given any leeway in a second loan operation.

He then continued: “Every player wants to play in games, I do not know if I will get that chance here or elsewhere, but I want to play. For now, I will continue my preparation, while those I trust deal with my professional future.”

It seems extremely unlikely that Inter will return for the Brazilian if Barcelona continue to hold out for cash or potentially decide to keep him, as a result of his great form. Furthermore, recent news suggests the next target after Vidal will be Nicolo Barella.
