Despite Spanish media reporting that Real Madrid’s Croatian midfielder Luka Modric will extend his contract with the club and will stay, Sky Sport Italia’s transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports that no such thing has been agreed upon.

According to the report Luka Modric’s agent, Vlado Lemic, had a meeting with the Real Madrid CEO José Angel Sanchez, earlier today making it abundantly clear that he wants to join Inter. Real Madrid’s response is that they do not consider him for sale.

Di Marzio reports that: “The contact between the parties will continue during the weekend, with Modric pushing to see the gentleman agreement respected by Real’s president. The clock is ticking and Monday could be the decisive day in the Modric transfer saga, as Real Madrid will travel to Tallin to play in the European Supercup against Atletico. Meanwhile, Inter are also set to take a flight to Madrid to play against Simeone’s side. The Nerazzurri won’t have contacts with the Merengues but this friendly game in the Spanish capital will be an occasion to discuss with the Croatian’s agents about the current state of the deal.”
