Inter new signing Sime Vrsaljko has been officially presented to the media following his arrival on a season long loan from Atletico Madrid with Inter holding an option to turn the move permanent.

“It was an easy decision to be a part of this project. We’ve come together because we all wanted this. I’ve been very well-received by all, from the fans at the airport to the Coach and my teammates here at Appiano. I spoke a lot with Ivan [Perisic] and Marcelo [Brozovic], they explained a lot of things to me and it won’t take too long for me to settle in. I hope to do well to make everyone happy at the end of the season.

“I always thought about Inter, even before going to Atletico. I really like being in Italy, the biggest adventure of my career started here and I feel at home. Inter are a strong team with experience and talented youngsters and we can do great things but we’ll see what happens on the pitch.”

The Croatian international concluded by discussing the Champions League and what role he hopes to play for the team.

“To play in the Champions League is a wonderful thing for any club, I think we can do well but we’ll have to prepare very well because we’ll face strong opponents. My role? I’ve played in different systems but right-back is my natural position. It’s up to the Coach to decide where to put me, I’m 100 per cent available to him and I’m already focused on the first match of the season.”
