During the aftermath of Sassuolo win over Inter, Nerazzurri central defender, Dutchman Stefan De Vrij, who replaced Slovakian international defender Milan Skriniar, also spoke with Italian TV channel Mediaset:
“I am very disappointed right now, it is not that nice to make your debut and start off with a defeat” – De Vrij began before moving on to talk about the penalty Sassuolo were awarded – “these are the kind of episodes that happen during a game, I think they deserved a penalty the way they were playing at that moment.”
The former Lazio player continued: “On the other hand I think we deserved a penalty as well, a penalty that was not given to us. Unfortunately my header at the end did not find its way in the goal, we all tried to equalize but did not manage to.”
In conclusion De Vrij stated that: “right now we have to stay positive, this game is in the past and the only way is to focus on the next one. Radja Nainggolan is a very strong player that will help us enormously.”
