Antonio Candreva has absolutely no desire to leave Inter at the moment and according to Gazzetta dello Sport, there are three reasons why he does not want to depart the club.
Firstly, there is family to consider, as his wife is heavily pregnant, which puts any ideas of moving, completely out of the question.
Secondly, he didn’t receive any offers that offered him the security he needed for his family. Although Monaco are a big club and Montecarlo is a great place, the operation was based on a loan without obligation.
Finally, something that could play into Spalletti’s favour, Candreva is convinced he can fight for his place and become a protagonist for Inter once again, despite his extremely poor form in the second half of the last season. This is because Candreva only considers Matteo Politano his rival for his position, as he believes Keita and Karamoh are versatile enough to play in other positions. Lastly, the added fixtures should almost definitely provide him with an opportunity to prove himself. Although, he has a lot of work to do as he seems one of the more likely candidates to be excluded from Spalletti’s Champions League squad.
A higher level of competition in the locker room should please Spalletti. It should also be stated that his €3.5 million salary was a huge turn-off for many clubs.
