The iconic San Siro is in desperate need of modernisation if Inter and Milan want to keep up with Europe’s elite Tuttosport believe.

“The change in ownership at Milan has encouraged Inter to move forward with their neighbours, after the complete collapse in relations while Yonghong Li was in charge. The delays have lasted long enough, now it’s time to take action.”

The first order of business will be the improvement of facilities within the red ring section. This is important because it is the nerve centre of the stadium, as it would instantaneously help increase revenues, due to the fact that is the section that is occupied by VIP’s and has the possibility of potential new sponsors.

With this, some of the ideas that have been dreamed up over the years will come back into reality. One of these concepts dates back to 2010, which details the addition of a new structure, in the middle of the two external towers. This structure, would house numerous reception areas, such as bars, restaurants and shops. This should be easily approved and would be a fantastic first step towards substantial modernisation in line with the modern game, and would go hand in hand with the improvements made in order to host the 2016 Champions League final.
