Following Inter’s poor start to the season, there was a strong impulse after the win against Tottenham to get back on track. This renewed conviction was seen in both victories against Sampdoria and Fiorentina, as Inter looked in control for most parts and never seemed to tire.

Mauro Icardi is now off the mark and creating chances just as well as he takes them. While, the incredible story of Marcelo Brozovic continues to unfold, as he has made the transition from public enemy number one to, arguably, Inter’s most important player in the short space of nine months, as Gazzetta dello Sport underlines.

Another impressive player over these 8 days has undoubtedly been Antonio Candreva. Luciano Spalletti has many more options on the flanks this year, compared to last. While, Perisic remains untouchable, Candreva is making life much harder for Politano and Keita. The Italian veteran has already scored one goal this season, after having gone a whole season without doing so. He was almost ready to leave for Montecarlo this Summer but he decided to stay and fight for his place. To the surprise of many, this might be a good thing.

Radja Nainggolan is also displaying positive steps towards harmonising with his new teammates. His injury in July drastically slowed down his progress and left him some distance behind everyone, but every minute on the pitch is visibly shaking off the rust. The first glimpse of his chemistry with Icardi was seen against Fiorentina, with still so much more to come, from the Ninja and whole team.
