Inter and Marcelo Brozovic have reached agreeable terms for the renewal of the Croatians contract Tuttosport reports.

“The Croat will prolong his contract with the Nerazzurri for at least another year, which currently expires in 2021. Consequently, Marcelo will get a salary increase from the 2.4 million he earns at the moment, to an improved 3 million per year. There was also the issue of his release clause to be renegotiated. Inter will increase it from 50 million to 60 million. However, it should be noted that this clause is only valid to foreign clubs”.

This renewal symbolises an important transition in the players career. Marcelo went from public enemy number one, after he sarcastically applauded the Curva Nord, to Spalletti’s most important player, during an experimentation period of poor form, which resulted in him finally finding his best position as a Regista. Many, including Spalletti, now consider Brozovic untouchable, so Nerazzurri fans will be hoping he shares the same attachment to the club as Icardi, for as long as he has a release clause.
