Inter captain Mauro Icardi once again made the difference in the derby della Madonnina by scoring the only goal of the game in injury time in front of a packed Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

After the match the Nerazzurri skipper stopped by Inter TV to share his thoughts on the win: “This was a game that we played well from the start, but we should have closed it off much earlier given the amount of chances we had. But winning a derby like this, at the end of the game is spectacular.”

Icardi was then asked if he had any voice left to which he replied: “My voice is gone thanks to screaming too much, the fans at San Siro and the fans at home are just spectacular.”

Five goals in a row against AC Milan , you’re the first player to do that in Inter’s history?

“The important thing is that the last four goals led to a win. When I saw the cross coming I was not thinking at all, their defender held me by the shirt by I managed to escape.”

Have you got a thing for scoring against AC Milan during the final minutes?

“I repeat, we should have closed the game off earlier in order not to suffer as much as we did. But we did it, we continued this streak. Now we just have to uphold it.”

Your emotions after the goal?

“Impossible to explain. I can only say it was a lot of satisfaction. To win like that, with a goal of mine at the end of the game is just impossible to explain. I did not want to get a yellow card that’s why I didn’t take my shirt off after I scored.”

Now Barcelona?

“Mentally we are already thinking about the game against Barcelona. Tonight [Yesterday] we will stay at home calmly, and starting tomorrow all focus will be on the game against Barcelona.”
