Tonight Inter will play in the third round of the group stage of the Uefa Champions League away against Spanish side Barcelona, who also favorites to win the group.
Since Inter has not played this competition for a while it does not come as a surprise that very few of Inter’s players have played on Barcelona’s stadium Camp Noù. But the players are not the only ones without any experience of the Camp Noù.
Although he is a veteran in the Champions League with a lot of experience from the tournament, Inter coach Luciano Spalletti will coach at the Camp Noù for the first time in his career. Something Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport underlines in today’s paper edition of the newspaper.
According to the report: “Among the Nerazzurri players who have participated in official matches against Barcelona on Camp Noù are Sime Vrsaljko, Joao Miranda and Borja Valero. Borja is the the only one who has won at Camp Noù with Mallorca on May 11th 2008 in a that game ended 3-2. Spalletti on the other hand could have coached on the Camp Noù in 2005 and had he not left Udinese in order to go to Roma. Instead Udinese was coached by Serse Cosmi when they played Messi and his teammates in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League, but now Spalletti will make his debut at the Camp Nou with Inter.”
