Bologna have been scouting Inter Milan-owned striker Francesco Pio Esposito for Spezia, while Premier League clubs are also interested.
This according to Italian football transfer journalist Nico Schira. He reports that the Rossoblu sent scouts to watch Esposito play against Reggiana, while a Premier League club watched him play for Italy’s Under-21 side.
Pio Esposito has been enjoying a positive second season on loan with Spezia.
The 19-year-old had already spent last campaign with the Ligurians. It was a season of growth for him in his first season in senior football.
Esposito showed impressive physicality and technical attributes to provide holdup play for Spezia.
However, Esposito was not prolific in front of goal.
This summer, there was some interest in Pio Esposito from a few teams in Serie A. However, in the end he decided to return to Spezia.
There, the teenage striker has found a familiar environment in which he has continued his growth in the senior game.
Now, there is certainly a sense that Pio Esposito won’t be in the second division for long.

Bologna Scout Inter Striker Francesco Pio Esposito – Premier League Club Also Keen
According to Italian transfer journalist Schira, there is one club in particular from Serie A who have been eyeing up.
Schira reports that the Emilian club had scouts at Spezia’s Serie B match against Reggiana before the international break.
That match saw Esposito score the only goal in a 1-0 victory for Spezia.
That was the Inter-owned striker’s fourth goal of the season so far.
Therefore, Esposito has actually already bettered his goal total from last campaign after just a couple months.
Bologna have already signed one Inter player after they had impressed in Serie B recently. They brought in midfielder Giovanni Fabbian last summer.
Meanwhile, Schira reports, a scout from a Premier League club watched Esposito witjh the Italian Under-21 team over the international break.
