Gabriel Barbosa has earnt the name of “Gabigol” once again in Brazil having scored 3 goals in 3 consecutive games for Santos and making several assists in the eyes of Corriere dello Sport.

This takes his overall tally for the season to a whopping 17 goals. His return to form is not only forcing Inter to reconsider their strategy for him, but also encouraging other clubs to take a gamble on him.

Santos only have Gabigol on a dry loan, so despite their own interest, if European clubs were to get involved in bidding, it would of course be much more beneficial for Inter but also make it harder for Santos to compete.

Returning to Inter would no doubt mean having to accept far less time on the pitch, with the likes of Mauro Icardi and the new boy, Lautaro Martinez now fighting for his position.  A move to a two striker formation might be a possibility but Inter will no doubt also be considering their finances.
