Inter and AC Milan have decided to work together for a new stadium that could well see San Siro modernised it has been announced in an official press release.

“FC Internazionale and AC Milan communicate that they have signed a memorandum of understanding to confirm the desire to work together with the project of constructing a modern and avant-garde stadium. A stadium adapted to current standards is fundamental in order to let fans enjoy a unique experience at the same time as it ensures success both on and off the field.

“The two clubs believe that a shared stadium is of primary interest of all stakeholders from a financial, administrative and technical point of view. Both clubs are at the moment evaluating a number of possible options, including the reconstruction of San Siro and have restarted the analysis of the various alternatives through a joint working group.

“The clubs believe that they can conclude this first exploratory phase by the end of 2018, in order to rapidly being able to start for planning and administrative activities required to give the fans a modern stadium in the shortest possible time. Yesterday the two clubs met with the Mayor of Milan, reopening a constructive dialogue with the aim of finding an option to modernise the San Siro area.”
