During an interview with Tuttomercatoweb, Palermo’s Sporting Director, Rino Foschi, spoke about the rumours spreading on a Edinson Cavani return to Napoli, giving his views on the different scenarios that could happen.

“To be honest, I do not think that a return to Napoli will happen due to many reasons. Bringing Cavani back would be at a heavy cost, even for a team like Juventus. I do not know how far the player himself is willing to go in order for a return to be possible, but it will not be easy.

“If someone was to tell me that Cavani could transfer to Juventus or Inter I would believe more in that, but not to Napoli, because when he left, he left as a champion and this makes it harder for him to come back.”

The Uruguayan striker had a prolific three year spell with Napoli between 2010 and 2013 before going on to join current employers where he has scored close to 200 goals in 258 appearances.
