Romanian broadcaster Telekom Sport spoke with former Inter defender Cristian Chivu where the now youth coach spoke on his hopes for the future in coaching.

“There are many things that you learn and discover. When you are a player, you do not think about how a coach faces a lot of problems, so many problems. But slowly, slowly you start to learn these things. Right now I am doing really well, then we will see in the future when these guys I am coaching grow up if I decide to coach adult players instead.”

Chivu spent seven years on Inter’s books between 2007 and 2014 and was part of the triplete winning side of 2009/10. All in all, the 38-year-old won three Scudetto, two Coppa Italia, two Supercoppa, one Champions League and one Club World Cup. Typically deployed as a full back, but also used on occasion as a centre-back, Chivu picked up the Romanian player of the year award twice while with the Nerazzurri.
