European football’s governing body UEFA are working toward finding out exactly what is going on regarding the recent report from Football Leaks with regards to Financial Fair Play according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

“According to Der Spiegel, Espresso and other newspapers, when Gianni Infantino, the now FIFA President, was UEFA secretary he is alleged to have favoured Paris St Germain and Manchester City when it comes to parameters for Financial Fair Play. Infantino himself has categorically denied any foul play and says he acted according to regulations.

“UEFA, that still have not commented on the subject, have communicated that in case of new significant information would open up investigations in order to get explanations, clarifications or refutations from the concerned clubs. Should irregularities from previously closed investigations emerge, these investigations could be reopened and subjected to a new judgement. Something, underlined by Nyon, that would see all clubs subjected to the regulations of Financial Fair Play and not only the clubs that are part of what have been leaked in recent days.”
