Albeit not a serious injury for Sime Vrsaljko it is yet another hurdle that has come up during his short time at Inter and comes at a time where Inter have a particularly difficult schedule.

Inter is facing the risk of having to cope without the Croatian fullback during a decisive four-game period of the season. After the game against Frosinone, Inter has three tough away games against Tottenham, Roma and Juventus. Games that can turn a season around, in either direction. The examinations after Vrsaljko’s problems during the international break shows that the injury is not serious, but could at least keep the Croat sidelined until the game against Roma, Gazzetta dello Sport detail.

It is bad news for Luciano Spalletti who has three decisive weeks ahead of him for his project with Inter. Vrsaljko will surely miss the Frosinone game and it is hard to imagine that he will play at Wembley against Tottenham.

With Vrsaljko out, Spalletti will need to rely on Danilo D’Ambrosio but due to the frequency of matches, he must find an alternative to the Italian. Milan Skriniar has saw some use at full back while Kwadwo Asamoah could ultimately also be used in areal emergency.
