According to a report from Corriere dello Sport, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic could well be the gift that Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta brings to Inter with the Serbian midfielder being a topic of discussion during the meeting between Marotta and Inter’s owners China in recent days

Marotta tried to bring the Lazio midfielder to Turin last Summer but now intends to exploit his good relationship, with the Serbians agent, Mateja Kezman, to close the deal for the Nerazzurri although it will not be easy.

The Serbian midfielder has had some difficulties this season but he will only turn 24-years-old in February, so he has plenty of time to revive himself. However, Marotta has an ace up his sleeve. Beppe and Lotito have a very good relationship, in fact, they’re both federal councillors for the Italian Football federation and often support each others ideas. Therefore, Marotta is hoping to use his good relationship with both Lotito and the agent to facilitate this move. The next few months will reveal how viable this is.

Additionally, CorSport is not excluding the possibility that at least one big sale is made to make room for the Serb. So far, Suning has rejected all offers for their key players, but this might be a turning point. Icardi, Skriniar, Brozovic, De Vrij or Perisic would all be able to demand a high enough price, to support such a mega investment for the Lazio midfielder.
