Pirelli chief executive Marco Tronchetti Provera has spoken on Inter’s chances of qualifying to the next round of the Champions League.
“The team is there and they need to continue on this path. I am confident Inter will qualify for the Champions League round of sixteen. We hope that fate will help us,” he said in an interview with news agency ANSA.
He then went on to discuss what went wrong for Inter in Wednesday night’s defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, a result which allowed Spurs back in to the qualification race and puts a lot of pressure on Inter at the same time.
“What was missing for Inter? Nainggolan was missed. He is a player capable of making a difference. Inter also lacked determination.”
He concluded by speaking on Inter’s Scudetto credentials and shared his desire for Inter to go for it.
“We must play for all the trophies available to us.”
