Inter are closely linked to Ozan Kabak, the 18-year-old, central defender, who has become a pillar in the defence for Galatasaray.

According to Tuttosport, Manchester City and Atletico Madrid are also greatly interested in the youngster but Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio is determined to wrap up a deal for him in January, but there is one major obstacle that he needs to overcome first.

Inter don’t have anymore non-EU spots in the squad. Once this has been resolved either by opening up a non-EU place or signing him in connection with another club, the defender has a €7.5 million release clause in his contract, which seems very affordable, considering his performances and the fact that for someone so young to already have 13 appearances between the league and Turkish cup, makes him very desirable.

The central defence is an area that will require significant attention going into next season. Joao Miranda’s future is still uncertain having claimed he was considering his departure not long before signing a new contract. Additionally, Andrea Ranocchia, although admirable for his recovery, is not of high enough quality for a team who wants to compete for domestic and European titles.
