Ahead of this Friday’s Derby D’Italia between Juventus and Inter at the Allianz Stadium, former Inter striker Christian Vieri has spoken on Inter’s need to get the three points from the match.

“Inter could try to go for the win in this game, they could do it, but as for the scudetto, Juventus is already too far away. Inter must get the three points, but not in order to challenge Juventus for the Scudetto, but in order to get as high as they can in the Serie A standings,” he said in an interview with Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Inter is a team that has a great coach, Luciano Spalletti is very good, the team has grown a lot and has acquired the right mentality.”

He concluded by commenting on Inter captain Mauro Icardi.

“Icardi? He and I are completely different players, but he is a great striker.”
