Two days from now, Giuseppe Marotta will officially be appointed as Inter’s new director, something that Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport reports on in today’s newspaper edition of the paper.

According to the report: “There will not be an official presentation, there is time for that in the future and also there will be plenty opportunities for journalists to meet Marotta in the near future starting with his first match as an Inter executive on Saturday when Inter plays Udinese, then there is also the Christmas dinner with the team that is scheduled 7 days from now and finally the game against Chievo.”

The newspaper reports further that: “With only two days remaining as an “unemployed” man, today and tonight will be a special evening because of everything that is at stake during the final group match in the Champions League. Should Inter qualify for the final 16 this would be very convenient for the Inter budget, both in view of the January transfer market window but especially for the coming summer market when the goal is to sign a top player for the midfield like Milinkovic-Savic, Kroos and Modric being the most popular names.”

“The young talented Italians Barella and Tonali will also be closely monitored, but the goal is to get a player that immediately will have an impact on the team on the big stages. One other reason is that Giulini and Cellino have set very high prices on their star players.”

“However, should Inter qualify for the knock-out stage, an attempt will be made to find a quality midfielder that immediately can give more quality to Inter’s midfield. Some attention will also be on the defense should Miranda insist on leaving” the newspaper concludes.
