Former AC Milan defender Alessandro Costacurta spoke to Sky Sport about the 1-1 draw between Inter and Dutch side PSV Eindhoven, a result that, thanks to Tottenham’s late equaliser against Barcelona, sent Inter out of this year’s UEFAChampions League and into the Europa League. This is what he had to say about the tough exit.

“Inter had to win this game, if you can not win game like this, then you have a lot to regret. It was also a game within reach and was set up very well for them,” he said.

“However, Inter coach Luciano Spalletti’s team was more worried about what was happening in Barcelona between Barcelona and Tottenham, than their own game at home at San Siro. But it should be noted that, at Camp Noù, Inter lost playing against Barcelona’s biggest names and that the Tottenham drew against a team with most of their champions remaining on the bench.”
