Turin based newspaper Tuttosport revives the name of Antonio Conte as a possible successor to current coach Luciano Spalletti at Inter following the appointment of Beppe Marotta.

This would mean the return of the duo Marotta-Conte who: “After 8 years in Juventus, Marotta knows how to construct a club that now is one of the top clubs in Europe and together with this Juventus has seen the growth of President Andrea Agnelli, a goal that Marotta will have with also with newly appointed Inter President, Steven Zhang.”

“Marotta will introduce himself to Spalletti and the team tonight at Appiano Gentile after the elimination from the Champions League and only recording one victory  in the last seven games. Inter is standing on a cross-road, and taking the wrong path would mean a troubled second part of the season, especially for Spalletti who has a, recently renewed, contract until 2021 and needs the support” the report continues.

“But it is inevitable that his results must be reviewed at the end of the season and due to the fact that there is a new CEO, these results will have to be positive, otherwise Marotta could evaluate a possible change where Antonio Conte, more than Simeone and Mourinho, is lurking in the background” Tuttosport reports.
