Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti believes that referee Silvio Mazzoleni did not consider Kalidou Koulibaly’s mood when sending him off during last night’s match with Inter.

The Senegalese centre back was subjected to racial abuse throughout the game that persisted despite several announcements that the game would be postponed if the offenders did not stop.

“We asked three times for the suspension of the match but it still continued.  I do not think that the referee took Koulibaly’s mood in to account when sending him off. The reaction he had is not usual for a player and depended a lot on what happened,” he told DAZN.

Ancelotti then briefly spoke on the match itself.

“There were no great opportunities for either side during the match. Inter were the better side in the first half while in the second half we were much better. We could have won despite being a man down.”
